Peterborough Junior Motocross club held the third round of its club championship at the weekend, replacing a round called off earlier in the year due to rain. A fantastically prepared track stood up well to early drizzle and a day of great racing commenced.

In the autos there was no stopping Sam Curtis who took all three race wins convincingly. He was followed home by Calum Mitchell who showed great style. Young Sam Painter showed great determination and took the last place on the podium

In the Junior 65’s the day started well for the flying Ashley Rudd with a win in the first race.  Cameron Rayner then set the pace with wins in race 2 and 3 netting him the overall win on the day. James Camwell also had a good day, his two second places helping him on his way to third overall.

There was no stopping Max Hind in the small wheel 85’s with a full compliment of wins for the day. Mr Consistent, Tom Painter followed Max home in every race for second overall. Next up was Lewis Copper with 3 strong rides for third.

In the Big Wheel 85’s it was Jordan Hind who stormed the class with three convincing wins. Aaron Edwards always gives it 110% and made it three second places after some great battles with Max Rhodes who topped out the podium in third place.

There was another Maximum in the Youth 125. This went to Sean Satchwell courtesy of his usual flat out style. The next few places were hotly contested, anyone of several riders could have taken second spot.  Tom Geraghty was the most consistent earning second overall for his efforts. Richard Piccaver did well to salvage third place after a disaster in race 2. Unluckiest rider of the day was Ben Jeffs whose first race crash put him out of contention despite third places in the other races.

In the Adults we saw a fantastic duel between Sean Hodgson and Cain Firth. These guys showed two completely different styles of riding a bike, but both were exceptionally fast. Sean took all three wins, but Cain was with him all the way. Both will be a force to be reckoned with this year! Joe Wagstaff was best of the rest with three solid third places. A mention must go out to two other riders, Stuart Holland and Anthony Hilton who showed most of the young guns the way home in fourth and fifth place respectively.
