Peterborough Junior Motocross Club

2007 Championship Round 3

Butter Cup Farm Chatteris

18.3.2007

Round three of the Peterborough Junior Motocross Club took place at the Buttercup Farm track at Chatteris at the weekend. Strong winds and a dusty track made it challenging for both riders & spectators. The club would like to thank the Reade family who very kindly sponsored the meeting and supplied some fantastic trophies.

In the Autos James Camwell turned on the style and romped home with 3 fantastic wins and the first maximum of the day. Benjamin Kind had three impressive rides to secure second place and Kyde Marlow made it on the podium in third despite a slip in race two. A quick mention for Jake Barsby, who finished fourth overall with the help of a great second place in race two.

A good turnout in the 65’s led to some good racing. Daniel Wright’s smooth riding helped him secure the first two race wins, whilst a charging Charlie Buttriss followed him home. Charlie turned it up a gear in the last race to take the final win and second overall on the day behind Daniel. Joe Tobutt finished the day in third place with some good strong rides and Jacob Hennessey’s third place in the last race lifted him to fourth overall on the day.

The Small Wheel 85’s was fast and furious at the front. The first race saw four different leaders in four laps with all the front-runners hitting the dirt at some point in the race. As the day progressed we saw a good battle between Ali Meadows and Jordan Hind for the number one spot. Ali took the first two wins and the overall victory with Jordan taking the last win and second on the day. Mason Law rode really well all day for third place and Jack Gregory and Jordan Jugg both performed well tying on points for fourth and fifth place respectively.

In the Big Wheel 85’s Damon Wales took the second maximum of the day with a strong performance. Another consistent performance from fast starting Ben Rollinson put him on the podium in second place. The next three riders, William King, Sam Barney and Mitch Eaton were only separated by a point at the end of the day after some very close racing and finished in third, fourth and fifth places.

In the schoolboy 125’s the fastest rider of the day was Lee Sharpe. However he didn’t have it all his own way. Ashley Moulds incredible starts put him at the front of the pack in each race whilst Lee had to battle through the pack. In race one Lee made a mistake and Ashley pulled away to take the first race win. However in race two and three Lee reeled Ashley in and took both wins giving him the overall victory and Ashley had to settle for second place. Joe Wagstaff put in a really strong performance with a 2/3/3 scorecard and third overall on the day.

The third and final maximum of the day went to Mike Smith in the Adult class with three faultless rides. Lewis Chapman put in a good performance as usual and took second overall for his hard work. Robert Fox, Mark Rudd and Rob Flaherty all had great pace and finished in the top three at some point in the day, eventually finishing in third, fourth and fifth respectively
