Peterborough Junior Motocross Club
2008 Championship Round 2
Butter Cup Farm Chatteris
24th Feb 2008

Before racing commenced at PJMC’s second club championship the club held a minute silence for the late Val Web of the ACU South Midland centre.

A newly extended and revamped track awaited the riders and gave way to some great racing. In the auto group an on from Luke Everett took a clean sweep with some impressive riding. Brandon Douglas had a fantastic day with three solid rides and a second overall finish. Ryan Clarke took the last place on the podium, his best finish being second place in the last race.

Jacob Warner stormed the Junior 65’s with three convincing wins. He was followed home in every race by Jack Camwell who was returning to racing after injury. Ashley Rudd made the last place on podium with three excellent third place finishes.

In the Small Wheel 85’s Max Hind led from start to finish in every race for maximum points. Nick Gray rode really well and took a well deserved second place.  An unlucky Max Targett just managed to pip Tom Painter for last place on the podium by 1 point despite a fouled spark plug in race one.

In the Big Wheel 85’s race one was taken by a flying Jordan Jugg after early race leader Jordan Hind suffered a puncture and dropped down the placings.  Jordan Hind won race two and three, but the real battle for the overall was between Jordan Jugg and Aaron Edwards. Aaron’s three second places were just enough to nab a well-deserved overall win from Jordan Jugg by 1 point.  A quick mention for Sam Foster who put in a brilliant ride for 5th place.

The Youth 125’s saw some great racing as usual. Early leader James Palmer suffered a nasty crash in race one and didn’t finish the day.  Billy King took overall the lead for a convincing win in race one and followed this up with a win in race two. He didn’t have it all his own ways as Ben Jeffs improved each race climaxing with win in the final race after some superb riding. Richard Piccaver nailed third place with three solid rides.

In the Adults Matt White took comfortable wins in race one and two, but  “waiting at the gate” in the last race backfired when he only made it back to fourth which wasn’t enough for the overall win. This went to a flying Rob Flaherty who took two second places and a win in the last moto, which clinched the number one spot on the day. Mark Rudd had three solid third place rides to take the last place on the podium.
