Peterborough Junior Motocross Club
2007 Championship Round 11
Butter Cup Farm Chatteris
16th Sept 2007

Peterborough Junior Motocross Club held the 11th and Final round if its 2007 club championship on Sunday. The riders were greeted by great weather and a well-prepared track.

In the auto’s it looked like Max Bickers had the group sewn up with two convincing wins in the opening two races. However a mechanical DNF dropped him well down the order and left the door wide open for James Camwell to take the overall.  A fearless Harvey Buttriss came home in second place after pushing James very hard and Sam Curtis took a well deserved third place with some great riding.

In the Junior 65’s it was a two horse race between Charlie Buttriss and Max Targett. Charlie took the early advantage with the first race win closely followed by Max. In the second race it was the reverse order with Max finishing first and Charlie second which meant it all went down to the last race, which was a thriller !! Max took the lead and pulled out a decent gap but he made a mistake and went down on the penultimate lap giving the lead to Charlie. Max picked himself up and rode like a demon eventually catching and passing Charlie on the last but one corner for the overall win. Bradley Moor put in a good performance for third place.

The only maximum of the day went to Jordan Hind in the SW 85’s. The only person to get in front of him on the day was younger brother Max who holeshot and led the first race for 3 laps until a spill let his bro through.  Jordan Wills, Jordan Jugg, Justin Dillon and Max all battled hard on the day with some great racing and passes made by all of them, but at the end of the day if your name wasn’t JORDAN you weren’t getting on the podium !!! The top three finished Jordan H , Jordan W & Jordan J.

In the Big Wheel 85’s Ben Rollinson finished the series with another overall win with some super smooth riding and two race wins in the process. Daley Coldron took the other race win and second overall with three very strong rides. Damon Wales fought hard all day and took third place for his efforts. Young Aaron Edwards also had a good day finishing fourth overall including an absolute stunner in race 1 where he took second place.

In the Youth 125’s Sean Satchwell also finished the series with an overall win. He had to work for it though, having to come through the pack to take wins in the first two races. Joe Wagstaff results improved as the day progressed including the win in the final race, which was enough for second overall. Richard Piccaver seems to get faster every week putting in very strong rides at the moment, leading races and getting regular top three finishes and today was no exception.

With the Adult championship still wide open it was going to be an exciting days racing. The Chapman brothers put in a dominating performance between them, with Lewis taking the first race win and Richard taking top spot in the other two races. A well-chuffed Richard took the overall spoils only to find out brother Lewis had crashed out of the last race and was on the way to A & E with a suspected broken wrist (Get well soon Lewis!).  Mark Rudd has rode superbly all season and today was no exception finishing third just in front of Wayne Buckberry who pushed him very hard.

Finally, a quick reminder to every one that the winter series starts on the 7th Oct
