Butter Cup Farm Chatteris
A beautiful day greeted the riders for the penultimate round of the PJMC club championship. The track was prepared to perfection, which gave way to some awesome racing through the classes. The club would like to say thank you to TRM motorcycles for sponsoring the meeting.
The Automatic group saw the first great battle of the day. Young Jake Edey hole shot every race and rode with maturity beyond his years to take two wins and the overall victory on his Cobra. He was pushed hard all the way by Thomas Brown who has really come into form of late. His super quick technique through the whoops made way for a last lap pass on Jake for victory in the last moto and second overall. Ashley Rudd was never far behind the duo despite a couple of falls for a well deserved third overall.
The Junior 65’s saw the next titanic battle of the day. Jack Gardner and Max Hind pulled away from the rest of the pack with blistering pace. Jack holed all the races, but Max soon passed him in the first moto to take a well earned victory. Jack fought back in the second and third moto taking both race wins and the overall victory with Max glued to his rear fender. Ben Stafford topped out the podium in third place with some great riding.
The Small Wheel 85’s saw the first maximum of the day going
to Jordan Hind with start to finish wins in each moto on his KTM. Rob Nicoll
kept
The Big Wheel 85’s was sewn up by Yamaha rider Sean Satchwell who took the second maximum of the day with some super fast riding. Ben Rollinson improved his placings every race with a 5-4-2 scorecard and second overall. Sam Wakeham consistency gave him the final place on the podium. Sam Barney has two good finishes, but an off the track incident saw him drop down the overall placings.
In the Youth 125’s Richard Gray took the next maximum of the day with fast, smooth riding on his KXF. However, he didn’t have it all his own way particularly in the first moto when second place finisher, Ashley Moulds pushed him really hard. Phillip Gray and Joe Wagstaff battled hard all day with Phillip just pipping Joe for third place.
The Adults saw the final maximum come from Cain Firth whose dominance this season continues Second place overall went to Matty White who held Cain at bay for most of the first moto, but couldn’t quite match his pace. Kevin Lancaster and Adie Thompson traded places all day with Kevin just edging Adie on overall points by virtue of a better last race. As TRM sponsored the meeting its only fair to point out that 5 of the top 6 Adults were riding Hondas!!
All in all an awesome days racing…. Well-done lads & lasses.
