Peterborough Junior Motocross Club kicked off its new season at the weekend. Despite a cold wind the track was in tremendous condition and lent itself to a spectaculars days racing. The club would like to thank the Reade family who very kindly sponsored the meeting and supplied some fantastic trophies.

In the Autos it was a newcomer to the club, Ryan Vickers, who dominated the proceedings. He led from start to finish in all three races. Jake Barsby and James Camwell battled it out for second and third places respectively. Jake managed to pip James to second place overall with some great riding. James had a couple of falls but showed his potential for the rest of the year.

In the 65’s there were three different winners, which left the overall results very tight indeed. Charlie Buttriss , Caylem Cobb and Jack Camwell all won a race each. Charlie and Caylem tied on points but first overall went to Charlie courtesy of the better place finish in the last race. Young Jack Camwell had a great day finishing in third overall with some exceptional riding in his first full year in the 65’s. Joe Hood and Rob Colebrook also had some impressive rides, both achieving top 3 finishes.

In the Small Wheel 85’s reigning club champ, Jordan Hind, started the year well with two first places and first overall. He didn’t have it all his own way with two of the young guns, Jack Gregory and Max Hind, hot on his tail.  Jack rode brilliantly and his results got better all day, finishing with a win despite a crash with Jordan in the last race. Newly upgraded, Max finished the day on the podium in third with some great riding and impressive results. Jack Gower and Jordan Jugg were also right on the pace, both getting top three finishes in some of the races.

In the Big Wheel 85’s Ben Rollison’s CR 150 F was awesome out the starts, giving him a good head start in most of the races. However, Aaron Pipon pushed his Honda 85 hard and eventually caught and past Ben in every race for the second maximum of the day. Mark Sharman and Billy King finished in third and fourth respectively after some great battles.

The schoolboy 125’s was dominated by Lee Sharpe, whose smooth riding and exceptional technique through the whoops, gave him an unassailable lead and the third maximum of the day. Newly upgraded Sean Satchwell showed two strokes are still competitive with a fantastic second overall after a great days riding. Ashley Mould efforts earned him the third and final place on the podium. Reigning champ Peter Cole had a couple of good rides, but an off in the first race left him unable to start his four stroke and out of the top placings for the day.

Matt White cleaned up in the adults with the final maximum of the day. His pace was just a little too hot for the rest of the pack. Darren Manning -Coe and Richard Chapman battled it out for second and third with Darren winning the battle courtesy of a better finish in the last race. Rob Flaherty finished the day in fifth place but managed a brilliant third in the last race.
