Fantastic
weather greeted the riders at the revamped and extended Buttercup Farm track.
A
big thank you must go out to the Howard Family and Roy Dunkling,
who have created a fantastic facility that is prepared to perfection for every
meeting.
The
technical track gave some great racing in all classes.
The
auto class was very closely contested. Jake Edey took
the well-deserved overall win with two heat wins and a third place.
He
was closely followed by Connor Robinson whose consistency secured him second
place and fast starting Ashley Rudd in third (who also took the last race win).
An
unlucky last race just dropped Elliot Coe off the podium in 4th place.
The
Junior 65’s saw some of the best racing of the day. Robert Hales got a maximum
but was pushed by a different rider in every race.
Bradley
Garret, Max Hind and Grant Sparrow swapped podium places all day and finished
in that order.
Grant
was the unluckiest of the four with a nasty crash in race two dropping him down
the placings.
The
Small Wheel 85’s saw newly upgraded Jordan Hind take his first maximum in his
new class with a dominating performance.
Jack
Gower rode exceptionally well on the grippy track to
take second place. Another newly upgraded rider, Aaron Edwards took a very well
deserved third place.
The
unluckiest rider in this class was Daley Coldron – A
collision with a post in the 2nd race dropped him down the placings
to fifth overall.
The
Big Wheel 85’s was dominated by Lewis Kerr. This guy is fast with a capital “F”
and took home a maximum for his efforts.
Ben
Jeffs rode consistently well all day for second and
Sean Satchwell secured third despite a bad result in
race two.
Hollie Pentlow showed the majority of the boys the way home in
fourth place. An unlucky third race put Kris Goldsmith usual podium finish out
of the window.
The
Schoolboy 125’s was very closely contested with Gavin Foulston,
Josh McDonald and Charlie McNulty each taking a heat win.
They
finished in that order only separated by four points.
Finally,
the Adults….What can I say about Cain Firth… His super smooth Stefan Everts “standing up” style around the corners was awesome
to watch, as was his ability through the new whoops section and he got a
maximum for his efforts.
Adie
Thompson was pushing really hard for second and Ricky Scotney's
consistency rewarded him with third place.
And
the unluckiest rider in the Adults? This must be Matt white – A crash in heat 3
put an end to his podium finish.
I
think we are all looking forward to the next round on the 19th Feb.
